Home-cleaning costs: a tax allowance subject to conditions
In Luxembourg, home-cleaning expenses may qualify for the flat-rate allowance for domestic expenses if the conditions set by the Luxembourg tax authority are met. The allowance can be up to €5,400 per tax year, without exceeding the amount actually paid or €450 per month.
Among other conditions, the work must be carried out mainly inside your home by registered staff. Each year, we send all our private customers a certificate summarising the services invoiced. Whether and how you can use it for tax purposes depends on your circumstances and the rules applicable to your return.
