You do not need to clean before the cleaner arrives. A few simple preparations can make the agreed areas accessible and prevent the scheduled time from being used for tidying.
Here is what is useful to do—and what you can leave to the cleaning visit: clear the areas concerned, share priorities, prepare the agreed equipment and organise pets and access.
Why Prepare the Home?
Tidying and cleaning are different tasks. Only you know where personal belongings should be stored. The cleaner works on the areas and tasks agreed with you.
Accessible Surfaces Are Enough
Clearing the agreed areas allows the cleaner to begin the scheduled work without first moving everyday items. You do not need to tidy the entire home.
The visit remains limited to the tasks set out in the quote. Preparing an area does not make an additional task part of the service automatically.
What This Preparation Helps With
- access to the agreed floors and surfaces;
- attention to the priorities confirmed for the visit;
- protection of personal and fragile belongings;
- a clear access plan when you are away.
1. Put Personal and Fragile Items Away
Put away personal, valuable or fragile items from the agreed areas so that they are not moved inadvertently.
What to Store Safely
Find a safe place for:
- jewellery, watches and cash;
- passports, contracts and personal mail;
- fragile, collectible or sentimental items;
- anything that must not be moved.
Clearly point out anything that needs to remain in place. This protects your belongings and avoids misunderstandings without questioning trust.
2. Make the Agreed Areas Accessible
Clear only the surfaces and routes included in the service. Do not move heavy or unstable furniture or dismantle an appliance in preparation.
In the Rooms Concerned
- clear the agreed worktops, sinks and tables;
- pick up laundry, toys and belongings from the floor;
- move cables out of walkways without unplugging equipment at random;
- leave the bed accessible only when a related task is included.
You do not need to empty every room. Areas outside the agreed scope can be left as they are.
3. Confirm Priorities Before the Visit
When arranging the service, identify priority rooms, delicate surfaces and any areas that must not be treated.
When the Service Is Arranged
Confirm in particular:
- the rooms and surfaces included;
- materials that need particular care;
- items that must not be moved;
- any access information required.
If Something Changes
Send requests for additional or changed tasks in advance. Fast Clean will confirm what is possible and whether the quote or schedule needs to be adjusted. A note left in the home does not make an extra task part of the visit automatically.
4. Prepare the Agreed Equipment
What Fast Clean Provides
Fast Clean provides the products and equipment planned for the service. They are selected for the agreed tasks and surfaces.
What the Customer Provides
For routine home cleaning, the customer provides the vacuum cleaner and, when required, the iron. These items should be accessible and in working order.
Any product supplied by the customer must be discussed and accepted before use. You can also read about our working method.
5. Plan for Pets
Tell Fast Clean about any pets and any behaviour that may matter during the visit. Agree on a suitable arrangement for the animal and the home in advance.
Points to Consider
- The animal must not be able to leave through an open door.
- Cleaning products and equipment must remain out of reach.
- The routes needed for the visit must stay clear.
- Any unusual reaction to noise or unfamiliar people should be mentioned.
There is no single arrangement for every pet. A separate room may suit some homes; choose an option that is appropriate for your animal.
6. Organise Access to Your Home
If you will be away, agree on the access arrangements in advance. Fast Clean must be informed in writing whenever keys are handed over.
Share Only What Is Needed
Mention anything that could prevent safe entry or locking up afterwards. Share only the information required for the visit, using the arrangement agreed with Fast Clean.
- building or gate access when required;
- a sticking door or another relevant detail;
- the agreed procedure for securing the home after the visit.
Checklist Before the Visit
Use this short list to check the essentials:
- personal and fragile items put away;
- agreed areas accessible;
- vacuum cleaner available and working;
- priorities or changes confirmed;
- pets accounted for;
- access agreed in writing where required.
Summary
Simple preparation is enough: make the agreed areas accessible and share the necessary information before the visit. The work remains limited to the tasks set out in the quote.
Prepare a Request for Your Home
Describe your home and priorities. Fast Clean will review the request before confirming the possible tasks, arrangements and price in a quote.
